5 Digital Marketing Trends in 2024: AI, Email Marketing, Mini Courses & More!

Can I tell you one of the biggest reasons I love TikTok? Other than knowing I’m guaranteed going to laugh, save a recipe I’ll probably never make and adding to my forever-long Sephora shopping list?

TikTok helps me know what’s “cool,” is the word cool even cool anymore? Idk I’m 37 and completely out of touch tbh.

So when I see influencers showing me what the cool kids are wearing, you best believe it’s going into my Amazon wish list because I’m never on-trend.

Trends move so quickly so props to the influencers out there helping this momma out.

But because I’m an online business owner who loves playing on new tech platforms and finding ways to make running a solo business easier, I try to stay on top of trends so that I can share them with my community. Because we’re all in this together.

Now, let’s peek into my 🔮 and see what’s trending in digital marketing in 2024.

Micro courses are IN

While I love a good chunky 6 module course that cuts through the fluff, I’ve been seeing some course creators make smaller courses to help clients achieve a specific goal without having to buy a full course of modules they may not need.

For example, if a copywriter has a full course on creating copy to market your business but the client is only interested in email marketing, the copywriter offers just that module for purchase!

I think this is a great win for both the creator and the client.

AI continues to mystify and excite 

ChatGPT and other AI platforms will continue to help business owners save time and be their creative partners if used correctly. I’m excited to learn more about how to utilize ChatGPT more effectively to help me brainstorm and repurpose content.

I’ve also been seeing other ways to use AI outside of content creation, which I’ll be testing out and reporting back on. 

Blogging makes a major comeback

Blogging never went away but with more people feeling the sting of less reach on social media, we’ve all learned that we need to incorporate other ways of marketing our businesses.

SEO is essential if you want your website to rank on Google and blogging is a great way to do that!

My clients have started implementing consistent blogging and I can’t wait to see the results, because it won’t be an overnight conversion BUT it is powerful.

Plus, a blog can be repurposed into soooo many other pieces of content.

The digital product craze continues

Quick wins & conversions are what we dream of as business owners. 

I’m not talking about these MLM-type digital products - I’m talking about instant purchases that you’ve created to help your ideal client achieve a specific goal.

Having a solid funnel and tech stack is important for the client experience so you want to make sure you have all of your systems in place before you launch.

Email marketing gets interactive

2023 was a big year for email marketing, I saw a lot of clients and friends begin to lean into sending consistent emails to their list.

With emails, we don’t have to fight against algorithms and there’s less pressure for showing up on camera, using the right hashtags, etc.

Last week, I saw this post by The House of Emails and am so intrigued at all of the fun things you can do in emails like polls, carousels, and of course quizzes!
